frequently asked questions.

for visitors:

What's a Webring and why would I want one?
^{Before Google, before Facebook, in the internet that time forgot, we needed a way to find websites. By joining a webring with similar-themed sites we can help each other out by cross-linking between them. Each site has a next and previous link, allowing users to traverse the ring. Once someone has found one of the sites, they can quickly navigate to others in the ring.}is this exclusive to digital artists?
^{No. We are welcome of a multitude of different creators based in visual arts that are queer.}I am queer but my work is not. Can i still apply?
^{No. This is not a generalized space for artists who are queer; but rather a space for artists that are queer and consistently showcase queer themes in their work.}Why do i need to advertise the webring in my pages?
^{This is a non-optional requirement for joining the webring as it helps individuals (particularly lurkers/artist "sleuthers") to easily find us without having to do intense advertisement. We believe specific audiences would be able to gravitate here- and its assumed to be queer folk that are in love with our message and ideals- who also, have an intense appreciation for art & discovering artists! It encourages a feedback loop system.}I reached out, and didn't receive a response?
^{It may take a time to be added to the ring, in addition to receiving a response of rejection/acception}What content is prohibited?
^{Generally, we permit a wide range of content. We do not promote censorship but exercise limitations. We prohibit: depictions of child-like characters in sexualized scenarios. Anything in relation to AI-generated content masquerading as art, MAGA/Trump/related political support, denouncing survivors lived experience/rapist apologizing, etc. We do not promote artists that have engaged in harassment/otherwise unethical and harmful behaviors tied to their "status" or platform.}
